A little more detail and news and stuff.

April 3, 2003

I haven't updated this page in almost a year, I'm such a slacker...

I'm back in school, again, finally.  This time it's for good, though.  Really.  Finishing up my Bachelors in Business: Accounting - I am attending the University of Phoenix Online.  I was a bit wary of the school at first, thinking as many probably do, that it's just a degree factory.  However, it was recommended to me by someone who's opinion I really trust, so I thought I'd give it a shot, and actually it is quite challenging.  There are no (or have not yet been) any traditional tests.  It is all based on papers (tons and tons of papers) and one's ability to communicate on and understand the topics.  It forces you to actually learn, not just remember, so I feel I'm getting a very valuable education.  Plus, I'm getting it in my jammies at home without having to fight traffic, so that's always a bonus!  My fourth class there, which just started today, is Critical Thinking: Strategies in Decision Making.  Could be interesting...

Recent events: Just moved into a new apartment with a roommate, Stephanie.  There's no DSL and I think that's going to drive me crazy, fast, but otherwise I really like it.  Finally got my room all set up, and it's...  cozy.  It's a small, but everything fits comfortably, so no worries.  Got a new computer Monday.  Yay! new toys.

So, lately I've just been spending a lot of time reading, hanging out with friends, and gaming.  Faire season's officially on again, but I don't know if I'll be working at any, other than the new Marin Renaissance Faire and the Dickens Christmas Fair.  We'll see...

So, wow! what a boring update.  I promise the next one will be better, and won't be long in coming either, okay?

Until then, have fun and love life,
Alison

If you're really clever you might find my Behemoth of a Wish List (more of a shopping/to do list really) at Amazon. Maybe it'll inspire you to do a charitable act, such as helping me with my addiction.
